Welcome to the HP English Community --
Reminder
At this writing, DeskJet printers (including this one) require a larger margin along the bottom edge --
12.7mm (1/2 inch)
Borderless Printing | No |
Print Margin Bottom (A4) | 12.7 mm |
Print Margin Left (A4) | 3 mm |
Print Margin Right (A4) | 3 mm |
Print Margin Top (A4) | 3 mm |
There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.
The solution is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch on the bottom edge. This includes all page numbers, footer information, or other notations.

How does this impact printing envelopes?
Perhaps no impact on larger envelopes - the lower margin would easily be above the minimum for the bottom margin to make room for the recipient address (destination address).
On Smaller envelopes, it might jam the address higher or not move and perhaps just cut off the bottom line?
What? I don't really know -- I've never used a DeskJet printer...

Challenge >> Use HP Smart to print envelopes
HP Smart supports PDF and Photo / Image scanning and printing.
HP Smart's file type limitation means your Envelope file is perhaps a envelope shaped document (that has been) Exported from an original document and saved in PDF format -
PDF has odd rules about margins. While most margins are inherited from the original Word (or Word-like) document, Exporting an envelope-shaped document to PDF certainly works, but you do end up with a PDF document with PDF style margins.
What if?
If the file will print on your printer, perhaps less than perfect address placement is OK - check with your local Post Office.
General Example - HP Smart - Simple PDF Print - Envelope #10 size

Envelopes and the Full Feature Software / Full Driver software
If you started out with a Word document (created, for example, using Word > Mailings > Envelopes) then -- depending on the size of the envelope -- the task might complete as expected.
What? Word documents can be created using the minimum margins possible for the printer.
That said, using Word to create Envelopes is a different animal - "Envelopes" have their own rules about address placement (both sender and recipient).
Word > Mailings > Envelopes might work on this printer if the envelope is large enough to keep that critical last line of the recipient address.
Example - Word > Mailings > Envelopes

You can also simply create an "manual" Envelope shaped document in Word and Print that document right from Word. Doing it this way certainly supports some extra "fancy" bits - pictures, art, whatever your Post Office will tolerate on an Envelope.

If you do not yet have the full driver printer software installed, do that.

Printer - Full Feature Software
==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ====
Windows
Printer - Full Feature Software
HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts. The full driver generally adds at one, possibly least one, possibly two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and/or HP Scan.
NOTES:
HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.
The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver.
No Sign-in required to use full driver printer software.
Reinstalling?
- Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
- If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
- Restart the computer and log in.
- If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only
If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.
If using a printer USB cable, connect the cable when asked to do so, near the end of the installation process.
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.
Note: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.
- Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
- HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
- HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model
- When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut
Printer Assistant shortcut > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
Or
HP Scan Assistant shortcut > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
General Example - Windows - Full Feature Software - Installed
