I have an HP DeskJet 3772. For some time now, it has been pushing blank pages of printer paper through. Though when I try to print the test page, that printed just fine. But anything else, it refuses to print. I dont know what Im doing wrong or what's wrong with it.

Hi @AKJewels ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your experience with your HP DeskJet 3772 All-in-One Printer could be due to a few potential causes. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Connection and Settings

  • Ensure Printer is Online: Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network properly.
  • Set as Default Printer: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and ensure your HP DeskJet 3772 is set as the default printer.

2. Check Ink Levels

  • Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly and have sufficient ink. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Update Drivers: Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install the updated drivers and restart your computer.
  • Reinstall Drivers: If updating doesn’t work, try uninstalling the printer drivers from Device Manager and then reinstalling them.

4. Run HP Print and Scan DoctorHP Print and Scan Doctor

HP provides a tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can diagnose and fix common printing issues.

  • Download and Run: Download the tool from the HP support website and run it. Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any issues.

5. Check Print Queue

  • Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, jobs stuck in the print queue can cause issues. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and then click Open queue. Cancel all pending print jobs.

6. Print a Different Document

  • Test with Another Document: Try printing a different document to see if the issue is with the specific file or application. For example, try printing a simple text file or an image to see if those work.

7. Check for Software Conflicts

  • Security Software: Sometimes, antivirus or firewall settings can interfere with printing. Temporarily disable them and try printing again.
  • Application-Specific Issues: Ensure the application you’re printing from is up-to-date. Try printing from a different application to rule out application-specific issues.

8. Perform Printer Reset

  • Reset Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve communication issues.

9. Update Windows

  • Check for Updates: Ensure your Windows 11 is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your computer.

10. Factory Reset the Printer

  • Reset to Default Settings: Consult your printer manual for instructions on how to reset the printer to its default factory settings. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues.

I hope this helps.
