HP Deskjet 2600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My new Deskjet 2600 was printing everything well, but now it will not print in black.

It will print an HP Information Page in black but nothing else, test pages etc print only in blue.

I have tried replacing the black cartridge with a 61XL black, which I was advised to buy,

but the printer does not recognise the new cartridge.

Would really appreciate an answer to this problem.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Color or Black Ink Not Printing and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

It seems I was given the wrong information on inks for the 2600, at my cost!

I have now installed the correct ink and all is well.
