When I go to print from my laptop (cable or WIFi) or phone app the job gets sent. the printer loads the paper then the orange light flashes and the paper stays in. I press X button and the paper is ejected. I get a message of the paper is the wrong size for the job sent (it is not)
on the small window display, there is an image of a page and ! as well as a very faint E next to the counter.
is this a software issue? would a factory reset solve this issue?
i have done various switch off unplug and plug back into no effect
any help much appreciated

Hi @RugbyRob,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Welcome back. I'd like to help!
We can try a reset and see how it goes. The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
