It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2820e is experiencing a critical error indicated by the flashing lights. Since you've already tried reinstalling the driver and reconnecting the printer, here are HP-specific steps to address the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds to allow the printer to reset.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the lights are still flashing.

2. Check for Paper or Cartridge Issues

  • Open the printer and inspect the paper path and cartridge area for any obstructions or debris.
  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly seated and that there is no protective tape left on them.
  • Close all access doors securely.

3. Perform a Hard Reset

  • With the printer turned on, unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • This can help clear any persistent error states.

4. Update Printer Firmware

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

I understand that you've had a frustrating experience with your Deskjet 2800e, and I'm truly sorry it has come to this.

HP greatly values your loyalty and the trust you've placed in our products over the years. Before making the switch, I’d love to explore all options to turn this situation around, so you can continue enjoying the features and reliability HP strives to offer.

If you’re open to it, we could explore newer HP models tailored to your needs—some come with upgraded technology and even hassle-free features like self-healing Wi-Fi and Instant Ink subscriptions that simplify your printing experience. Additionally, there may still be repair options or trade-in programs available for your current printer, and I'd be happy to guide you in accessing them.

Ultimately, our goal is to ensure you feel supported and confident in your decision, whether it's sticking with HP or trying something new. Let me know how you'd like to proceed—I’m here to help! 🌟

Take care and have a great day!
