Hello, I just bought this printer a few days ago and the setup went great. The printer can scan, and copy perfectly fine but for some reason when I try to print from my laptop through the HP Smart app on windows on my computer the printer doesn't print it. Basically, after I hit print on my computer it will make a noise like it's going to print and doesn't do anything. Then after a while, it will make another noise like it's going to print and still doesn't print anything. It prints the information, and WEb services pages with the buttons on the printer just fine but when I try to print a regular document from my computer it doesn't print but all the other functions like copy, scan work fine. Haven't tried the fax because I don't use fax but I really need to get my printer working for documents I need to be printed. Did anyone get a fix?

Hi@Kennyk1616,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- Are you able to make a copy on the printer?
- If you are using a USB cable, make sure the cable is no longer than 3 meters.
- Do not use a USB hub. Connect the cable directly between the printer and the computer.
Installing HP Full-featured driver may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Clean uninstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, Disconnect the USB cable, restart the computer.
Step 2: Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: The software will let you know when to connect the USB cable.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
