Deskjet 3755
iOS

Recently purchased a new Deskjet 3755.

The printer does not seem to be entering ‘Sleep Mode’ (Energy Save Mode).

From what I can tell, when sleep mode is entered I should notice some change to the indicators on the printer.

For example, the power light dimming or flashing, etc. I have not been able to detect any differences

after the printer has been idle for hours.

The printer is WiFi connected.

Firmware appears to be current.

I’ve disconnected the power cord, left the printer unpowered for 30 minutes, then restarted it.

I’m attaching some images:

1. Picture of the printer showing the various lights that are on.

2. Screenshot of screen showing firmware status.

3. Screenshot of screen showing Energy Save Mode setting.

@randyw57, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

● Power usage is reduced while in Sleep mode.

● After initial setup of printer, the printer will enter Sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity.

To change the time to Sleep mode you can access the EWS page of the printer which you have done already. Make sure to click on apply and OK after making the changes.

For more info on sleep mode, refer to this document.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi, KUMAR0307!

I did see that section of the user guide.

For me, it is very difficult to see the difference  between ‘On’ and ‘Dimmed’.

I did find a section in EWS (Tools/Printer Information) that showed me the ‘Ready/Sleep’ status.

I think something that puzzles me is this: in sleep mode the status lights, display, and scan light all remain on

at what appear to be their original intensity.
