Deskjet D2360

I have a Deskjet D2360 that will no longer print, and the green light is flashing. I have tried simple things like turning it off and on again, adding more paper, and pushing the leads in firmly. The colour cartridge is probably past its usable lifespan (but I'm not sure that would make the green light flash). Also I'm on Linux Mint - may not be ideal for the printer, but it's worked up till now. And the printer is probably 7 or 8 years old - perhaps that's the normal life expectancy? Any thoughts? Thanks very much.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the blinking light on your Deskjet d2360.

If the color cartridge is empty and not needed you can remove the color cartridge and run the printer in ink backup mode with just the black cartridge installed. This will print colors as grayscale.

HI Bob,

Thanks very much for this. The trouble-shooting document you suggested introduced me to the concept of a paper width guide, which I duly fiddled with. I 'd also left the printer unplugged at the wall for about 24 hours. Lo and behold! It works again!
