The document feeder on my printer is inoperable.  The physical tape connector between the document feeder to the motherboard is torn.  I've tried replacing it but it does not want to work.  I'm getting an error message "An internal communication failure has occurred in the scanner subsystem.  Contact support.  You can continue to print and receive faxes" 

 

The event codes are 30.03.30 and 31.01.47.

 

While the scanner and document feeder is broken, there is no issue with the printer, but it doesn't want to accept jobs.  It will sometimes print a single job if I start/stop the print spooler service in Windows, but only one.

 

Is there a way to disable the scanner and copier features of the printer entirely in the settings or firmware so I'm not constantly getting an error message that impacts the ability to print?
