Hi
I am trying to set up my HP OfficejetPro 8710 so that it always prints double sided across all applications.
At the moment it only prints single sided.
I have a MAC and am using OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 software.
I have tried using System Preferences/ Options & Supplies and this takes me to the "Embedded Web Server (EWS)". On the EWS I select Settings/ Preferences/ Tray & paper management but I cannot find anything there about duplex/ double sided printing.
I was hoping that it would be set to do double sided printing as default. But apparently not, and I'd prefer to be saving the trees.....
Can you help?

Hi @Nicola7,
Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are experiencing printer related issues. I will certainly do my best to help you!
I understand that you are having trouble while printing 2-sided using the HP Deskjet 6980 printer. Let’s try the steps listed below to try and fix the issue:
Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
Click the “Add button” (+).
Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)
Once done, then try changing the printing settings to print 2-sided. Follow the step listed here: http://hp.care/2nyvwcX
Let me know how that pans out,
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
