Thanks for this. I downloaded and installed the package and it has worked only partially for my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2516. Now i can scan but when i send something to print a message says ¨waiting for printer to become available¨ when it is available, no printing jobs other than the one i am sending. So, for now, i cannot print and i don't know what else to do. I tried everything that has been shared on this thread unsuccessfully. Any idea to how to solve this new issue? Thanks for your help

I had to deleted all HP files and folders - the printer file and scan file in the Applications directory and the hp folder and subfolders in the Library>Printer directory. I then reinstalled the printer and then the scan files using “HP Easy Admin.app”. I tried deleting files at first that showed up in the error messages, but I couldn’t use the printer as a scanner. I had to delete all HP folders and files first, to stop the pop ups from interfering with the new software installation. As a word of caution, after you delete all HP files and folders from your computer, reboot. Install your printer files, reboot, then install your scan files, reboot. After I installed the printer files, I tried to install the. Scan files, and the HP software stated that it was waiting for another application to complete its installation. I had to force quit the application (press the keys Alt-Command-Esc at once)). The scan program “saw” my printer, but I could not scan. So I turned the printer off, then on again, rebooted my laptop, and the the scan program worked and I could scan again. I don’t know why I had to reboot so many times, but this is what I had to do to get my all-in-one printer fully functional again.
Let me state that I am infuriated at HP. HP caused this issue for thousands of customers and they provided NO support. They should have contacted their registered customers (iautomated ink customers) and told them that they allowed their certificates to Expire and they are resolving the issue. I called Apple Tech Support and they hel;ped me and assured me that this was not caused by Apple. The Tech support person sent an email to me with separate links to download the HP software and drivers. HP - absolutely no help at all, zero. I have purchased three HP printers for my own use and purchased HP printers when they went to college. Next printer I need, I can guarantee HP that it will NOT be a HP printer. This issue was caused by HP’s irresponsibility and lack of support. Letting customers fumble for solutions is wrong and irresponsible. How difficult is is to post on your website that you allowed your Certificates to expire and provide all customers on your website with explicit instructions?

The solution from BryanCustomPure didn't work for me :(. When I click on the link it opens up a new tab and then the tab immediately closes. Anyone else having this problem or know what I could do to get the link to open properly?

Many thanks for your advice BryanCustomPure - thanks to your link I can now print. But I have to keep hitting 'OK' to a warning message which reads 'PDE plugin will damage your computer' to get things printed. My newly auto-updated Mac (OS Catalina 10.15.7) says I should change my Security and Privacy Preferences if I want to accept this new driver - but can I just check that this is definitely OK and won't damage anything as my Mac seems to think it will!? Thanks again for your help.

Yes, you can, but if you prefer not to, try uninstalling your printer USING THIS METHOD ONLY (NOT EASY START, NOT EASY ADMIN): Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners. Then restart your computer. Then install using the same menu in Printers & Scanners
If this does not work for you, please start a new thread, and message me with it. I will help you there. I will no longer be following this thread.
