OfficeJet Pro 7720

I am having such a lot of trouble trying to get my OfficeJet Pro 7720 to duplex print by flipping the print along the long edge rather than the short edge.  I have already uninstalled the printer's drivers as I had a problem with it after the Windows 10 update recently - so fed-up with the whole thing.  Now since I've re-installed the printer's drivers I cannot get it to print how I want it to.  I have tried printing from right-clinging on the screen, using HP Smart (which it suggests to use since the Windows 10 update) and many other ways.  Not one of the options work.  I don't want to manually have to print on each side of the page after spending money on this new printer that was supposed to make my life simpler and quicker when printing.  I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest where I might be going wrong or point me in the right direction where I can rectify this really annoying problem.  Many thanks.

@Pattinsonelle, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Refer to the document HP Printers - How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper (Windows) (Duplexing) for help.

Also, The 'automatic discovery' feature used by some (Windows) drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is present):

  • For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the Device settings tab.
  • Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
