My printer shows an error that says the cartriges are not compatable.

According to this document (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05308850) HP has a firmware update that removes the dynamic security feature.

It says "If you would like to remove the dynamic security feature, go to the Software and Drivers Downloads page for your printer to install the latest firmware version. See Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware for more details. HP recommends you keep your firmware up to date for best results."

When I follow the link it takes me in circles around the HP web site,

 

...can someone provide a direct link to the firmware update that removes the dynamic security feature?

I'd like to help!

 

You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.

 

There are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.

All I asked for is the Link to a fixed version of the firmware that disables the "Dynamic Security Feature"

 

These same cartidges worked just fine for weeks and then suddenly the chip was incompatable?

 

Search this forum for the sentance "Dynamic Security Feature Affecting Cartridges Using Non-HP Security Chip" and you will see cases where this happened over and over again.

 

This and all of the reports about the HP Instant Ink keeping people from using the printer that they purchased have people turning to other printer manufacturers.

 

What happened to "The HP Way"?

The document you posted clearly states which models are covered by the ability to disable the cartridge issue. Yours is not listed so it is possible that you cannot disable that "feature"

If it previously accepted the cartridges and no longer does it is possible that a recent firmware update has led to this issue.

The HP documentation seems to include several printers such as the 8615, 8625, and 8616 under the 8610 and 8620 headings.

Good Day,

 

 Today I can see the Envelope Icon at the top of the page next to my profile name.

...However when I click on it it takes me to a  message page ...but there are no messages.
