Hi @Manprit,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
An E1 error on an HP Smart Tank 580 typically indicates a problem with the printhead or ink system. Here’s how you can troubleshoot this error.
- Check Ink Levels: Ensure that all ink tanks are properly filled and not empty. Refill any empty tanks if needed.
- Inspect Ink Cartridges: Open the printer and check if the ink cartridges are correctly installed. Remove and reinstall them to ensure they are seated properly.
- Clean the Printhead: Sometimes, cleaning the printhead can resolve errors. Use the printer’s built-in cleaning function from the control panel or software.
- Check for Obstructions: Look inside the printer for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the error. Clear any debris or obstructions you find.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any available updates.
- Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps work, you might need to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
