Printer randomly started throwing an E3 error - cartridges are secure, no jam or obstructions, everything is clean inside the printer. Reset protocol has not worked, power drain has not worked. Printer was working just fine two days ago completing jobs. What do I do next?

Hi @Iivagntplz381,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check for Software- or Firmware Updates:
- Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
Perform a printer hard reset:
- Turn on the printer, if it’s not already on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while the printer is still on.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and directly into a wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer if it does not turn on automatically.
Reinstall or replace print cartridges:
- Remove the current cartridges and inspect them for any visible damage.
- Clean the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Reinsert the cartridges and ensure they are properly seated.
Check Printer Software:
- Verify that the HP printer driver and software installed on your device are correct and fully updated. Sometimes reinstalling the drivers can resolve unforeseen issues.
I hope this helps.
