Brand new printer. Printer test page, then the first time it prints, I get half a sheet of the right image, then it jams. Now I have an E3 error. I've followed the advice, but persists. If I don't get this fixed tomorrow, it will be returned to the shop.

I understand It's frustrating to encounter cartridge jam issues, especially with a brand-new printer. 

 

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the E3 cartridge jam error on your HP Smart Tank 5105 All-In-One Printer:

 

Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve minor issues.

Clear the Jammed Paper: Open the printer cover and carefully remove any jammed paper or debris that you can see. Make sure to follow the printer's manual or instructions for the safe removal of jammed paper.

Check Cartridges: Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed and seated correctly in their respective slots. Remove and reseat the cartridges to ensure they are securely in place.

Check for Obstructions: Inspect the printer's paper path and interior for any obstructions that may be causing the jam. Remove any debris or foreign objects that you find.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Make sure you're using genuine HP cartridges that are compatible with your printer model. Using non-HP or incompatible cartridges can lead to various issues, including cartridge jams.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer and install them if necessary. Firmware updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can help resolve issues like cartridge jams.
