ENVY 7858 not accepting 64XL black ink cartridge

I bought a 64XL black ink cartridge for my printer. The printer came with a 64 cartridge. The XL, with more ink, lists ENVY 7858 as one of the models it’s compatible with. When I install it, I get an error message. When I put the empty 64 ink cartridge back in, it’s accepted. I’ve checked three times to make sure the 64XL is installed correctly. I can see no problem with it. It’s the same size as the 64. It clicks into place just like the 64. The adhesive tape is removed from the contacts. 

Can someone tell me what the problem is?

Please try these steps - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge
 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
