My ENVY Photo 7855 printer will no longer startup, it is stuck on the "boot screen" with the progress bar complete and only the first dot filled in. I'd like to hard reset it. Please let me know how I can do this. I've tried unplugging it for a few minutes, holding down the power, then plugging it back in while holding the power down but that didn't do it. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Hi @sylvr000,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your ENVY Photo 7855 printer is stuck on the boot screen and regular troubleshooting steps like unplugging and holding down the power button haven't resolved the issue, performing a factory reset might be the next step to try.
Here's how you can do it:
- Turn off the printer: If it's already stuck on the boot screen, you might need to unplug it to turn it off completely.
- Wait for a few minutes: Give the printer some time to fully power down.
- Perform the factory reset: Locate the buttons on your printer's control panel. The specific buttons might vary slightly depending on the model, but typically there should be a combination of buttons to press for a factory reset.
- Press and hold the necessary buttons: Press and hold the buttons required for a factory reset. This might involve holding down the power button along with another button or a combination of buttons.
- Power on the printer while holding the buttons: While still holding down the reset buttons, plug the printer back in or turn it on.
- Keep holding the buttons: Continue holding down the reset buttons until you see some indication that the factory reset process has started. This might involve lights flashing or the printer display changing.
- Release the buttons: Once the factory reset process has started, you can release the buttons.
- Wait for the reset to complete: The printer will now go through the factory reset process, which might take a few minutes. Be patient and wait for it to finish.
- Set up the printer again: Once the factory reset is complete, you'll need to set up your printer again, including connecting it to your network and installing any necessary drivers or software.
If after performing these steps, your printer still doesn't start up properly, it might indicate a more serious hardware issue.
