Hi @MS1976, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0xB857FA54 typically indicates a hardware issue with your HP printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 2–3 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open all accessible compartments and remove any jammed paper.
- Ensure no foreign objects are inside the printer.
Reset the Printer
- If your printer has a reset option, perform a factory reset (usually found in the settings menu under "Restore Defaults" or "Reset").
- If the printer does not respond, try a hard reset by holding the power button for 10–15 seconds.
Check Ink Cartridges
- If your printer uses ink cartridges, remove and reseat them.
- If the issue persists, try replacing the cartridges with genuine HP cartridges.
Update Printer Firmware
- Visit HP Support and check for any available firmware updates.
- Install updates using HP Smart or HP Easy Start software.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer.
- Download and reinstall the latest drivers from the HP website.
If the issue persists, it may be a hardware failure. You will have to visit the nearest HP authorized service center. Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/service-center
