My new printer does not seem to go to sleep and the edge light stays on all night. I have used the app to set the power save mode to 5mins but it doesn't have any effect. The printer is connected to my house wifi.
I called HP support who said do a hard reset (lid open and power down) which I did then had to set up the printer on the wifi network again which I have done.
Prints fine but wont go to sleep!

As long as the printer has power, the edge light will stay on.
Edge light does not mean the printer is "active".
Printer can be in "low power" state with light on.
Tiny light - tiny power consumption.
(If) the explanation here is not satisfactory, printer lighting is explained in the User Guide and the "blinking lights" guide.
