This is a new printer for me—a few months old. While removing a jammed piece of paper, I noticed a small tight-coiled spring (approx. 1" long) bounce from the left side of the inner chamber. I couldn't tell where the spring came from. After the paper was removed, I closed the top cover. And all "error messages" reset and disappeared. But now I am afraid to print because I might further damage the machine. Any advice?

It seems to be working fine - a co-worker printed it (I didn't know there was a problem), and the docs came out fine.
