My Mac ( Apple M1 Max - macos 12.5)
shows
Encryption credentials have expired.
for my printer and never been solved.
I already update the Certificates and delete the printer. Then, restart the print and add it back to the system. However, it still tells me 'Encryption credentials have expired.' and cannot print.

Hi @Jessie98,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're experiencing with your printer showing "Encryption credentials have expired" on your Mac (Apple M1 Max running macOS 12.5) can be tricky, especially if you've already tried updating the certificates, deleting, and re-adding the printer. Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve this issue:
1. Check for macOS Updates
Ensure your macOS is up to date, as Apple frequently releases updates that can fix bugs and compatibility issues with connected devices:
- Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Software Update.
- If there are any updates available, install them.
2. Update Printer Firmware
Printer firmware updates can resolve security and compatibility issues. Visit the printer website, locate the support section, and find your printer model to check for firmware updates. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16
3. Reset the Printing System
This will remove all printers from your system and can help resolve stubborn issues:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Ctrl-click) in the printer list sidebar and select "Reset printing system...".
- Confirm the action and add your printer again.
4. Adjust Certificate Settings
It might be that macOS is not correctly trusting your printer's certificate:
- In Finder, go to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.
- Look for certificates related to your printer and check their trust settings. You might need to adjust the settings to "Always Trust".
- Note: Proceed with caution and only adjust settings for certificates you recognize.
5. Create a New Network Location
This can help refresh your network settings, which might be causing issues with printer communication:
- Go to System Preferences > Network.
- Click the Location dropdown at the top and choose "Edit Locations...".
- Click the "+" to add a new location, give it a name, and apply the settings.
- Try to connect to your printer again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
