Hi @Sandymagoo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your envelopes are getting crushed when printed with your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-In-One Printer, it may be due to incorrect settings, paper handling issues, or the type of envelopes used. Here are some steps to help resolve this issue:
Step 1: Check Printer Settings
- Ensure the printer is set to the correct paper type and size for envelopes.Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.Right-click your HP OfficeJet 8015e and select Printing preferences.Set the paper type to Envelope and select the correct size.
- Lower the print quality setting to reduce the chance of crushing. In the Printing preferences window, find the Quality or Print Quality setting and set it to Draft or Normal.
Step 2: Load Envelopes Correctly
Adjust Paper Guides:
- Ensure the paper guides in the input tray are snug against the envelopes without bending them.Load envelopes with the flaps closed and facing down, according to the printer's instructions:
- Avoid loading too many envelopes at once. Try printing with just a few envelopes in the tray to see if this helps.
Step 3: Use Suitable Envelopes
- Use high-quality envelopes that are designed for inkjet printers.Avoid using envelopes with clasps, windows, or thick textures as they may not feed properly.
Check Envelope Condition:
- Ensure the envelopes are not bent, wrinkled, or curled before loading them into the printer.
Step 4: Clean and Maintain the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.Open the printer and locate the paper feed rollers.Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers.Allow the rollers to dry completely before plugging the printer back in and turning it on.
Check for Paper Debris:
- Inspect the paper path and remove any debris or bits of paper that might be causing issues.
Step 5: Firmware Update
- Check for Firmware Updates:
- Make sure your printer firmware is up to date.Use the HP Smart app or access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer’s IP address in a web browser and check for firmware updates.
Step 6: Test Printing:
- Load a single envelope and try printing to see if the issue persists .If possible, test with a different brand or type of envelope to see if the problem is specific to the envelopes you are currently using.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
