I have followed all three of these steps multiple times now, along with multiple tries using the troubleshooter and Scan Doctor - I even uninstalled and reinstalled the HP printer, then re-applied the updated software and I am right back to still being unable to connect to the printer. I get an immediate error when I try to print a test page, and can't scan any document. I have now spend over 5 hours messing with this and am extremely frustrated. Printer is connected to the Wift, as is my PC on the same wifi network, but PC & HP Printer are not communicating.
I have two college students in this home and this is causing some serious issues, please help resolve ASAP.

8lives - I did not get to your last step (enter printer IP address into browser), but I am now able to scan and print again! I don't know which step (or order of steps) worked, but I am so grateful for your help! Happy holidays!

If you enter the printer IP into your browser are you able to open the printer EWS?

I have entered the IP address into the URL and followed the steps there that others suggested on this site (and on other sites, out of desperation) . Nothing changed. I turned off the firewall while I made all of the changes suggested and even uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. I just tried again to print a test page and immediately get a print error. I've run the troubleshooter, and every other thing I've found...For this to stop working so suddenly with no error codes to research, etc is immensely frustrating.

Are you running a antivirus program?
Are you able to print via the USB port?
Version of Windows?

I have been using Webroot antivirus for the past 3-4 years, but disabled the firewall each time I tried to troubleshoot the printer issues.
This printer does not have a USB port.
I have been on Windows 10 for the past few years.
Side note: my daughter uses a Macbook laptop and she CAN print to this printer...why can't I!? So frustrated!! We've not installed any new devices or apps, or any unexpected updates....Please help!

This printer does have a USB port, it's next to the power connector.
Start by uninstalling the antivirus program & then rebooting.
Check the system files by runing sfc /scannow from a cmd admin prompt.
Try printing.

I can print/scan when connected to the printer by the USB cable. I uninstalled Webroot, rebooted and tried to run sfc/scannow in the command prompt, but received this reply: You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility. What should I try next?

You need to run the cmd prompt as admin.
