I have an HP envy 4520 series wireless printer, it is always going offline for no reason and the only way to get it back to online is restart my PC. I believe me software is up to date.

I should add, I am trying to print from an HP Envy desktop with a wired connection to the router. So I go to print say a word document and it is the first one of the day, I go, file, then print and it says the 4520 is offiline, i pull the printer plug out to let it reboot, and it may print a couple more thimes then for no reason I can find it goes offline. so by now the constant rebooting the printer has gotten very old. I also founds some setting that made it so it would not shut down on its own over a certain period of time. I used the HP doctor fixer and it said it did some updates, and before than I reloaded the software and drivers, but that did not help. I mean the printer is sitting next to the router. I have an older HP 3510 wireless printer that works just fine. I am sure the printer is out of warranty, so I hope the answer is not that it is broken. However if you think i need to reload something or add something please let me know. I the meantime, I will keep doing the file print thing to see if it says the 4520 is offline again. Oh , yeah and the blue light on the printer is solid and not blinking when Word says the printer is offline.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:
