I have tried to print from my laptop but there is no black or colour option available anywhere, I've tried printing via Cricut, Word, printing a picture from google images but nothing I do will give me the option to print in colour and so everything I print is in black and white.
I have been through all the preferences and all the other settings but it just isn't listed anywhere, I have uninstalled the printer 5 times in 2 days, I have automatically and manually reinstalled it, checked for updates, downloaded the drivers from the HP website etc. I have done everything I have found online so far but nothing works.
The printer is working fine if printing from my mobile so I know its not the printer itself.
Any other advice on what could be going wrong or what I can try?

Hi @Duckymc86,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the black and color options are not available when you try to print with your HP Envy 4523 printer, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check the ink cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. If the cartridges are low on ink or empty, replace them with new ones.
- Clean the print heads: Over time, the print heads can become clogged with dried ink, which can cause issues with printing. Try running the printer's cleaning function to unclog the print heads.
- Check the print settings: Ensure that the print settings are configured correctly. Make sure that the correct paper size and type are selected, and that the printer is set to print in color.
- Restart the printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can help resolve the issue.
- Update the printer drivers: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

None of what you've suggested has helped at all because its not the printer that's the issue. I've said it works fine if I print from my mobile or another device, its just not giving me the option to print in colour when using my laptop. There is no colour options in the printers settings on my laptop anywhere and as I've said already, I've uninstalled it a number of times and reinstalled it. I've also followed HP instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers manually with no success.
Thanks
