Hi @jeremydrake,
Thank you for replying,
I'm glad you pointed out that as I might have overlooked at it in the beginning, after going through the document for - HP Printers - Mobile Printing Solutions Compatible with HP Printers which clearly shows that printing with HP Print for Chrome Apps is not compatible, however you could try different apps such as HP Smart App and Connecting and Using Google Cloud print, these are compatible and tested for Chromebook.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Hi @jeremydrake,
Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!
I understand you are looking for the instructions on how to print from Chromebook on your HP Envy 4527 printer using HP Print for chrome app. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Please view this document that contains instructions for using HP Print on a Chromebook.
HP Printers - Printing with the HP Print for Chrome App
Download the "HP Print" app from the Chrome Web Store, then run it. Add your printer by typing in the IP address assigned to it on your network. (You can find this in the Network Configuration section on the printer's control panel).
Now try to print something, either by pressing Ctrl+P, or using the "Print" menu option in Chrome. A window will open showing the "Destination" of the file. The first time it usually shows "Save as PDF" as the default. Click the "Change Destination" button and select your printer.
For additional information, please visit these links:

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Hi Jeet many thanks for yor reply, but what I am looking for is not how to print, but compatability of the Envy 4527 with the print for chrome app as the app isn't shown in the compatability page for this printer
