Hi @Ian_Mac3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP ENVY 5030 is showing a “Service Station Stalled” error, but there’s no paper jam and the carriage moves freely. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power cycle the printer
– Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
– Plug it back in and power on. This can reset internal sensors and clear temporary errors.

Inspect the service station area
– Open the ink cartridge access area and look at the service station (the part where cartridges park when not printing).
– Check for dried ink, debris, or buildup that might block the sensors.

Clean the service station and wiper blades
– Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water or isopropyl alcohol to gently clean around the service station and the wiper blade area.
– Avoid touching electrical contacts or other sensitive components.

Move the cartridges manually (carefully)
– With the printer off, gently slide the carriage to each end of its track to ensure nothing is physically obstructing it.
– Make sure cartridges are seated correctly in the carriage.

Check for firmware updates
– Open the HP Smart app or HP Support software and check for printer firmware updates.
– Updating firmware can sometimes resolve false “service station stalled” errors.

Reset the printer to factory defaults (if error persists)
– On the printer control panel: Setup → Printer Maintenance → Restore Factory Defaults.
– Reconnect to Wi-Fi and test printing to see if the error clears.

I hope this helps.
