printer started printing continuous pages of gobbly **bleep** when using my laptop with win 11. I don't have the same problem with my desktop with win 10. When calling up my printer in device manager, it says do not delete. I wanted to try uninstalling then reinstalling but was afraid of this (do not delete)
Thanks for any help.

Hi @titmouse31
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where your HP Envy 7155 All-in-One printer is printing continuous pages of garbage characters when connected to your Windows 11 laptop, but it works fine on your Windows 10 desktop. This could be caused by several things, such as a driver issue, a communication problem between the laptop and printer, or a corrupted print queue.
Here’s how you can approach this:
1. Check Printer Driver and Reinstall It
The issue might be related to a driver problem. Since you're seeing the "Do not delete" warning in the Device Manager, this could be indicating that the driver is important to the system. However, you can safely update or reinstall the driver without causing any harm.
To reinstall the printer driver:
- Open Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Find your Printer:
- Look for your printer under Printers or Imaging Devices.
- Right-click on your HP Envy 7155 and select Uninstall Device.
- Confirm if prompted.
- Do Not Delete the Driver: When uninstalling, you might see the message "Do not delete the driver." Make sure to not check any option that might delete the driver, as you still want Windows to keep the existing driver.
- Reboot the Laptop: After uninstalling, restart your laptop.
- Reinstall the Driver:
- Go to the HP Support Website and download the latest driver for your HP Envy 7155 that is compatible with Windows 11.
- Follow the instructions to reinstall the driver and set up the printer again.
I hope this helps.
