One very frustrated man- please help!

Relatively new printer , about 6mths. No change in recent software. Planning to print on Photo paper , 5 x7 in. but keep getting message "Load Photo Paper, 5x7 in. paper in the tray".  Should be very basic and simple command. Have tried loading into photo paper tray, main tray , upside down. ..  occasionally it prints out on the back side of photo paper but generally message ongoing. I have changed paper settings on printer to ensure correct at time of printing. I have also tried to rest the printer..

All advice welcome. Thanks in advance...

Welcome to the HP support community.

Have you printed on this photo paper before?

Try to print on a different set of photo paper?

Meanwhile:-

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Here are the steps:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.
