Hp Envy Photo 7830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Morning,

I've buyed some weeks ago a new HP Envy 7830 printer. I encountered some problem using this product:

1) When I power up the printer or insert new paper the printer make a very strange sound like a fast "stock"-"stock"-"stock"-"stock"... for about 2 second. After that the printer works good has always.

2) The printer is connected with ethernet cable and I can print correctly but when I try to open the web page  most of function are not usable for a problem with security certificate. I try with Crome and also with Edge but the problem is the same.

3)When I try to activate HP Instant Ink on the web page there's not my model but on the printer there were a sticker that I have 4 month trial included in service. Now I can't activate this and also I can't pay for that.

Can some one help me?

Best regards,

Paolo Masini

@Mecch,

I'm glad to hear you found the solution you were looking for, However, you still have a concern regarding the printer making a strange noise when turned on.

Usually the printer goes through the maintenance and this time you could hear a noise from the printer.

If it's a grinding noise, please check if you do hear while making a copy from the printer.

Updating the printer firmware should take care of this issue.

If you come across any issues, please please free to get back to us and I'll be more than happy to help you.

Take care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. 🙂

For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post you are having issues enrolling your Printer into the Instant ink program. Don't worry we're here to help you.

Most important ink, regarding the certificate error, I would suggest you check the date and time set on the computer. If it's incorrect, then go to Control panel - Date and Time - Change date and Time select the correct date and time.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the printer.

In order to update the printer, On the printer control panel - Setup - Printer Maintenance - Update the printer.

Once done, restart the printer and then check.

As you have mentioned in your post that you have purchased a HP Envy 7830 printer and this printer is not listed in the list of eligible printers. However, this printer falls under HP Envy 7850 Series, so you can choose HP Envy 7850 Series while enrolling your printer.

Here's the list of eligible printers: https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/ (Click on Check to see if your HP printer works with Instant Ink ▸)

could you also help me with the screen shot, from where you got the information about the free trial. As this will help me in further assisting you.

Some of our Instant Ink Printers come with Trial Promotions.
To Activate this, Follow the steps below. You don't need a promo code.

1.       Go to 123.hp.com, type your printer model, click Begin, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest full feature software.

2.       Accept the prompts to connect your printer and turn on Web Services. Web Services allows your printer to communicate securely over the Internet with HP Instant Ink.

After the printer software installation completes, an option to continue online or an Activate window to enroll in Instant Ink should display.

If the activate screen displays, click Yes, activate, and then continue to the next step.

If the activate screen does not display or you encounter an issue, go to Enrolling in HP Instant Ink and follow the steps to enroll the printer.

Once this is done, the trial months will be added to the customer account

If you have enrolled your printer, I would suggest you help us with the account information. Since the instant ink account details are confidential, please send me the required information via private message.

Thank you Jeet_singh, I solved the problem about instant ink and I've subscribed a plan for that. I've also received the 4 month promotional as the commercial stickers on printer told. Thank you very much for that.

About certificate I've checked my date time setting on my pc and everything works good. I've checke on printer and the firmware is updated to the latest version. I've also tried to deactivate my antivirus and the windows firewall but the problem still happens. There's something else that I can do? I've tried to download and manually install the certificate released from the printer but still nothing, the problem is always the same. The printer doesn't start an HTTPS connection with the browser and most service are unreacheable.

About the strange noise at the first power up you haven't replied. You think that this wont cause some problem in the future?

best regards,

Paolo
