Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer was working fine this morning, then all of the sudden Control Panel screen froze and I unplugged it to restart it.  Then when I plugged it back in, it froze at the one dot point of the start up.  It wont go to the home screen.  The blue bar goes to the end of the screen but freezes at that ONE dot point.  I have found numerous people on this site with the exact same problem and the advice seems so be some private hard reset option that has to be emailed by HP to me privately.  Please email me this hard reset instructions. I am freaking out!  Please hurry!

ps- pls dont email me the instructions about plugging and unplugging directly into the wall because I have been doing that for 4 friggin hours.  Need the secret RESET instructions please.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer. The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reply with the "secret solution" finally arrived many days later....  needless to say it did not work.

If you have the HP photo envy 7855 like mine, the "secret" reset was to turn off power ( in my case to unplug since power on/off button is frozen too) and then once you power on, to press the bottom left button ( looks like a return arrow) 4 times after powering on and then voila... the display panel is supposed to unfreeze and allow you to navigate thru the display to reset the printer.  Keep in mind that return arrow is very hard to see since it is NOT ILLUMINATED but if you squint really hard, you can sort of figure out where it is. Its at the very bottom left of the display panel.

For me this did nothing.  The power button is still frozen as is the display screen. Stuck on that infuriating one dot!!! And nothing in the secret reset solutions that they "privately" email you did anything to help.  I had to go out and buy a new printer and considering this was less than 2 years old, I am PISSEDHPprinterSTUCKat1dot.jpg
