@Dion88, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
HP printers, including the Envy 6055e, are designed to work specifically with genuine HP ink cartridges. If you use refilled or third-party cartridges, the printer might reject them due to the inability to verify ink quality or ink levels accurately. Here are a few steps you can try, but please note that HP does not officially support non-genuine HP cartridges:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure the cartridge is installed correctly. Open the access door, remove and then reinstall the cartridge to make sure it is firmly seated.
Inspect Cartridge and Printer Contacts:
- Check the metal contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer for dirt or residue, and clean them gently with a lint-free cloth.
Check for Software Updates:
- Make sure your printer software and firmware are updated to the latest version, which might improve compatibility.
Perform Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
Original HP Cartridge:
- If possible, try using an original HP cartridge to see if that resolves the issue, as refilled cartridges may not always function reliably.
Cartridge Compatibility:
- Verify that the refilled cartridge is compatible with your printer model, as incorrect cartridges can cause rejection.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
