I am frustrated with the infamous71.02.4A error. The cartridges are full and there is paper. I have rebooted the printer numerous times, to no avail

I understand you are getting the 71.02.4A error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 usually indicates a hardware issue or a firmware problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this error:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Wait at least 2-3 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error persists.
2. Inspect the Ink Cartridges
- Remove the cartridges:
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove all ink cartridges carefully.
- Inspect for damage:
- Check for any debris, ink leaks, or physical damage on the cartridges.
- Clean the electrical contacts:
- Use a lint-free cloth and lightly dampen it with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts.
- Reinstall the cartridges and close the access door.
3. Check for Paper Jams
- Remove any paper from the input and output trays.
- Open the rear access door or duplexer and check for any paper scraps, stuck paper, or debris.
- Ensure the paper path is clear.
4. Reset the Printer
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer.
5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- If the printer starts up:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
- Install it via the HP Smart app or your computer.
6. Factory Reset the Printer
- Caution: This will erase all settings, including Wi-Fi connections.
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings.
- Confirm the reset.
7. Test Without Network

Hi Gaya,
I appreciate your suggestions, however they didn’t resolve my issue. I also did a hard reset, to no avail. I scrapped this printer and replaced it, as I need a functioning printer. I’m sure your suggestions will help others.
