OfficeJet Pro 8710

I've recently started seeing this error message flash up on my OfficeJet Pro 8710 - it then is replaced with a black screen with white writing which states that I need to turn the printer off then on again.

I have tried doing this, as well as removing the power for a few minutes before plugging back in again. I have also tried to reset to factory defaults but the issue is still there.

The printer boots up and lasts a few minutes before the error comes up, but the printer is totally unusable as it will display the error within a few minutes.

I was pretty shocked to find out that HP won't even talk to me on the phone or live chat about the problem as the printer is out of warranty?! What kind of company won't talk to someone who owns one of their products to help get it working again?

A new error I've noticed, on trying to print anything (including a built in status report from the printer) I get another blue screen error B8A01E3E

So it seems that this is related somehow to network connectivity.

When I connect the printer to the network via ethernet it blue screens after the printer confirms it is connected. I have tired:

Full reset

Network settings reset

Setting a manual IP

Letting it use DHCP

Connecting to my wireless network

All of these result in a blue screen on the printer.

The printer isn't long out of warranty so the fact I can't even contact someone from HP about it is an absolute joke. I even had a 3 year extended warranty for the printer.

I also installed the Instant Ink cartridges that were sent some time ago, the printer is now saying these cartridges are not compatible with the printer?! Even though they were sent to me from HP AND the number on them matches what's on the sticker near the area where you install them?

The fact that I can't even raise a support call / issue / chat with someone is in itself a complete joke. I won't be buying HP ever again - the fact that I've paid for instant ink for the last 3 years is a complete joke as well when the cartridges they've sent are not even compatible!

The exact same thing is happening to me. This is planned obsolescence by HP. I won't be buying from them again.
