Hello,

My printer has randomly generated a fault after a Windows 10 update. To confirm there were no issues prior to this fault, printer was in perfect working order.

The printer is a HP officejet pro 8610. The printer is connected to my PC through WiFi, I'm running Windows 10, version 22H2.

The error code displayed on the printer states " The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed. Error code: 0xc19a0013 "

Again this is random as for example the cartridges have not been touched/replaced and are at good levels, the printer is only used when needed and nothing has happened to the printer recently i.e. been relocated, disconnected etc...

Before posting my question, I have tried the below found on another post but it does not fix the error code. I even purchased another printhead and replaced it but get the same error code. So is there something else for me to do?

Let's try these steps:

  • Turn on the printer.

  • Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  • Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer(if connected). If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.

  • Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.

  • Wait at least 60 seconds.

  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

  • Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

  • Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

  • If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.

  • If you disconnected the USB cable, reconnect it to the rear of the printer.

  • Try to print

John
