I installed this toner cartridge about a month ago, with no issues. But today suddenly an error code 11 popped up which means the printer doesn't accept / recognize the cartridge any more. I have been unable to fix it. I bought a replacement cartridge today and it works fine. Can I return the defective toner cartridge to HP?

I have a same problem, but toner was bought back in jan 2024.  Throwing Error 11 after the recent update.

I need solution to revert the firmware to unbrick the toner.   i had to buy another new genuine HP toner in the meantime.

Unfortunately, the firmware cannot be reverted once updated. Error 11 typically indicates an issue with toner. If your toner was working before the update, it may no longer be recognized due to new security measures.

 

Since you've already purchased a new genuine HP toner, that should work without issues.

This is unacceptable, If you search the forums, there is quite a few threads about this. 8 pages worth of peoples printers. 

There has to be a way to downgrade the firmware.  Tech News Media is covering this bad firmware update.

I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing; I totally understand how frustrating this must be. 

 

If you want to use the third-party cartridge, you can disable the dynamic security feature on your printer. This will allow you to bypass the issue and use non-HP cartridges without any problems. You can do this by accessing the EWS of your printer. You may refer the user manual for specific steps.

Hi,

Its already disabled never enabled in the first place, and i am using genuine HP toner. 

I was just reading on a different thread, there is a way for you guys to send me a new replacement toner or printer if the printer is indeed bricked.

 

How do i contact HP for that ?
