Hi @Dubs9

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how worrying it feels to see an error code like OXB8A32A38 appear on your printer screen, especially after you’ve already tried powering it off and back on.

Thank you for your persistence—it shows real care in troubleshooting. This type of code usually points to a firmware or internal communication issue, and we can work through steps to clear it.

Steps to try

Power reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors) and reconnect to the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check for firmware updates

  • Visit HP’s driver and firmware page for your printer model:
    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
  • Enter your printer’s product number and download the latest firmware update.
  • Install the update and restart the printer.

Remove and reseat cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove each cartridge, gently wipe the copper contacts with a lint‑free cloth, and reinsert firmly.
  • Close the door and check if the error clears.

Run HP App diagnostics

  • Install the HP App on your Windows PC or macOS.
  • Add your printer, then go to Printer Settings → Diagnose & Fix.
  • This tool can automatically detect and resolve communication errors.

Test with a different power source

  • If possible, connect the printer to another wall outlet.
  • This ensures stable power delivery, which can help clear error codes.

You’ve already shown great care in troubleshooting. These steps will help confirm whether the error is caused by firmware, cartridge communication, or power.

Would you like me to also share how to print a Printer Status Report from the control panel? That can give you a clear snapshot of the printer’s condition before you continue.
