@Peterpips, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Code F0.01.03.01 on HP Envy 6100e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The error code F0.01.03.01 indicates an internal firmware error in your HP Envy 6100e printer. This type of error suggests there might be an issue within the printer's firmware, which manages the printer's hardware and software operations.

Steps to Resolve the Error

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is updated to the latest version. Check HP's official website for any firmware updates specific to the HP Envy 6100e model.
  • Follow the instructions provided on the website to update your printer’s firmware if available.

Check Connections:

  • Make sure all the cable connections are secure between the printer and the computer.
  • If using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Reset to Factory Defaults:

  • If the error still persists, consider performing a factory reset by following the instructions in the printer's manual or support documentation for HP Envy printers.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi Zoey7886,

Thanks for your reply but I'm stuck with a different issue whilst trying to implement your solution.

I did the power cable part but when the printer powered up I was asked to scan a QR code to set up the printer again, I started doing this but when it came to ALIGN the printer display reverted to the QR code again, so I'm going round in circles.

Also, you said to check my printers firmware version but how do I establish which version my printer has please?

Thanks and kind regards

Peter

@Peterpips, Thank you for your response.

@zoey7886 is away at the moment. I will do my best to assist you here.

And I’m sorry to hear you’re stuck in a loop with the setup process. Let’s walk through this step by step to get things back on track.

It sounds like the printer is not completing the setup because the alignment step isn't finishing properly. This is a known issue in some cases after a firmware-related reset or interruption. Here’s what you can try:

Complete Setup Using HP Smart App (Important)

Make sure you’re using the HP Smart app (available for Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android) to complete the entire setup. The QR code shown on the printer is meant to guide you to this app.

  • If you already have the HP Smart app installed, open it.
  • If not, you can download it from: https://www.hp.com/go/hpsmart
  • Add the printer again in the app, and follow the guided steps fully, including alignment.

If the printer screen reverts to the QR code during alignment, try this:

  • Cancel the alignment from the app (if possible), or restart the printer and repeat the process.
  • Make sure you have plain A4 or Letter paper in the tray.
  • Allow the printer to finish printing and scanning the alignment page—this step must complete to finish setup.

Once the setup is complete (or if the printer becomes accessible in HP Smart), you can check the firmware version like this:

Option 1: Through HP Smart App

  • Open HP Smart and select your printer.
  • Go to Printer Settings or Advanced Settings.
  • Navigate to Printer Information or About section—this will list the firmware version.

Option 2: From the Embedded Web Server (if accessible)

  • Find your printer’s IP address (shown on the printer or in HP Smart).
  • Open a web browser and enter the IP address in the address bar.
  • Navigate to Printer Information or Settings > Firmware.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have a great day.
