Hi! I’ve seen this question asked and answered but it states that it is resolved by specific steps to reset the machine. Stating to be careful not to brick it by using another device’s steps.

The errors code is B86174BA with a blue screen. The device is an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e. Could someone walk me through the steps for this printer to do a factory reset. Thank you in advance.

Hi @MickG576

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To address issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer, performing a factory reset can be useful.

Here are the steps to restore your printer to its default factory settings using the HP Smart app or through the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

Method 1: Using the HP Smart App

  1. Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your device.
  2. Select Printer: Click on the image of your printer to access the settings and management tools.
  3. Advanced Settings: Navigate to the Advanced Settings under the Settings menu.
  4. Restore Factory Defaults: Click on Restore Factory Defaults or Factory, and confirm your selection when prompted.

Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Access EWS: Open the Embedded Web Server by entering your printer’s IP address in a web browser.
  2. Settings/System Tab: From the EWS home page, click on the Settings or System tab.
  3. Log In: If asked, enter admin as the username, and input the PIN found on the printer label. This label is usually located inside the cartridge access area or on the printer door.
  4. Restore Defaults: Select Restore Factory Defaults under the appropriate menu, and confirm your choice.

After about 20 seconds of restoring factory defaults, your printer should automatically restart. Make sure to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network if needed and check for any printer firmware updates to ensure optimal performance.
