Hello community, i do hope, that somebody can help: switching in the 8022e the message is saying, that the printer is checking. Cancelling this because of long time without any actions there is the error
DD000E78
The printer does noch move any tick.
Without LAN, WIFI is blinking, but i cannot connect directly because lack of password. With LAN, the printer does not request an ip via dhcp, so that i cannot reach the webUI on any way.
In this situation, i do not have a chance to reset the printer?
I like very much those little holes with switches in to make the item working again . . .
Getting out the print cartiridges manually, there is no change in the message,
It stays DD000E78
Thanks for any tipp to reset the printer or change something.
Kind regards and a perfect christmas time

Hi @TanteGerti,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the error code DD000E78 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8022e printer can be related to several potential issues, including network or internal software problems. Since you've mentioned difficulty with connecting to both LAN and Wi-Fi and being unable to reset the printer via the web interface, here are some steps you can try to reset the printer or resolve the issue:
1. Hard Reset
A hard reset may help resolve internal errors like DD000E78. To perform a hard reset:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds to allow any internal charge to dissipate.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on again.
2. Reset via Printer Settings (If possible)
If the printer allows you to navigate to the settings despite the error message:
- Access the printer’s control panel and go to Settings.
- Look for the Restore Defaults or Reset option under the Network or Printer Maintenance sections.
- If you can get to the menu, select Restore Network Defaults to reset the Wi-Fi settings and clear any network-related errors.
3. Use the Printer’s Physical Buttons (Without Touch Screen)
If your printer model does not have a touch screen or you cannot navigate due to the error:
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons together for about 15 seconds.
- After that, the printer should reset itself or enter a network reset mode.
4. Manual Network Reset
If you still cannot reset the printer and it is stuck with a blinking Wi-Fi indicator:
- Make sure no network cable is plugged in and attempt to connect it to a Wi-Fi network manually.
- Try connecting it using a WPS push button if your router supports it. To do this:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking, indicating it is searching for the network.
- The printer should automatically connect to the router after a short time.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
