HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

After replacing the ink cartridges, I get the following error:

"There is a problem with the supply system. Try replacing the affected cartridge with a different non-empty cartridge. If message appears again, record message, and contact support."

The message continues to appear. I tried to contacted support at [edited] but the line is eternally busy.

@P53D, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Supply System Problem!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you encounter a "Supply System Problem" error after replacing the ink cartridges, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Turn the Printer Off and On

  • Press the power button to turn the printer off.
  • Wait for a few seconds, then turn the printer back on.

Check Ink Cartridges Installation

  • Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door gently.
  • Remove the ink cartridge by pushing it in to release it and then pulling it firmly toward you.
  • Reinsert the cartridge into its slot and press firmly to ensure proper contact.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door and check if the error message is still displayed.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you Zoey7886.  The steps you describe were the first things I tried.  I have done all multiple times to no avail.  At this point I am at a loss as to what to do.  I have checked for updates, etc.  I cannot get thru to HP via phone - the line is ALWAYS busy.  I am convinced it is a dummy line so they can put a number out there for PR purposes but they really do not staff the technical support section.  I am ready to throw the printer in the dumpster and look for a new printer - but not HP.  This is the second HP that has given me problems.  I am not a fan.

@P53D, I truly hear your frustration—and I'm really sorry you've had to wrestle with this issue, especially after doing all the right things. When your printer gives you the “Supply System Problem” message again and again, even after careful reinstallations and resets, it can feel like it’s working against you instead of with you.

Here’s one more step you can try, if you haven’t already:

Try a semi-full reset (this clears deeper firmware errors). Since the steps vary by printer model, I’d be happy to walk you through it if you can share your model number.

You deserve a printer that just works. Let’s try one more time together—don’t give up just yet. 💬

Take care, and have an amazing day!
