HP Envy 5530 all-in-one
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've had this particular printer for less than a year and this is the first problem I've had with it.

Recently whenever I try to print something, I click on open active printers and after a moment the job in the print cue displays "Error-printing" and won't even start the print job.

It still says it's properly connected to my network so I reinstalled the software & drivers and rebooted my system trying to fix the problem but there was no change.

Hello @BryanMiller, Hope you are well!

Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are experiencing issues while printing using the Envy 5530 printer. I will certainly do my best to help you.

Let’s first try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

(Printer is working again)

So the Hp Print and Scan Doctor was able to tell me that the program could not fix my issue and I had no choice but to fully uninstall and reinstall the software for the printer; which I did and it now works.

I'm still somewhat confused because when I downloaded and installed the fresh software for my printer it got to a point that said I had to finish the process online. The program's links refused to acknowledge my internet connection and offered me a URL (http://www.hp.com/ePrint/ENVY5530) to copy&paste, which instead of bringing me to a page to finish the installation brought me back to the beginning of the download process because it automatically re-directs to http://123.hp.com/us/en/envy5530.
