Hello,
A few weeks back, I purchased a LaserJet M234dw printer. I managed to configure it on a Mac running MacOS Sequoia (15.3.2) but I don't find a way yo have it detected by a Mac running MacOS Monterrey.
I tried several times to disconnect the modem, uninstall / reinstall HP Smart... Most of the time, it tells me no printer is detected. When it does detect one, I can't finish the install in HP Smart and I get a UU_400_EB000A9900 error.
Any help on that issue would be very much appreciated 🙂
Regards

@RedGuy50, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The UU_400_EB000A9900 error in HP Smart on macOS Monterey usually indicates a communication issue between the printer and your Mac. Since your HP LaserJet MFP M234dw was successfully configured on another Mac running macOS Sequoia (15.3.2), the problem is likely specific to your Monterey system.
Troubleshooting Steps:
Remove Any Old Printer Drivers & Reset Printing System
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control + Click) on the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
- Click Reset and restart your Mac.
- Reinstall the printer afterward.
Manually Add the Printer Using AirPrint (Without HP Smart)
- Ensure the printer and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + (Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax) button.
- Select your printer from the list.
- In the Use dropdown menu, select AirPrint instead of HP drivers.
- Click Add and try printing.
Disable IPv6 on the Printer
- Open the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering your printer's IP address in a web browser.
- Navigate to Network > IPv6 Configuration.
- Disable IPv6 and save changes.
- Restart the printer and Mac, then try reinstalling.
Try a USB Connection
If the wireless setup keeps failing:
- Connect the printer to your Mac using a USB cable.
- Open HP Easy Start or HP Smart and try setting it up.
Ensure HP Software is Up to Date
Restart the Router and Assign a Static IP
- Restart your Wi-Fi router and printer.
- Open the printer’s EWS and go to Network Settings.
- Assign a Static IP under IPv4 Settings.
- Try reinstalling the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Max3Aj
Thanks a lot for your time and your very complete answer.
I was trying your solutions but couldn't connect to the printer... until I connected it to the modem via ethernet. And steps 1 and 2 worked like a charm. And then I could disconnect the ethernet cable and it works as well. I can't understand why but hey ! it works 😉
It's worth noting that whilst I used AirPrint (and not Smart HP) to set up the printer, I can't numerise a document via AirPrint. Il have to use HP Smart.
So... problem solved ! Thanks again for your help 🙂
