Hi @DeepeshG
Welcome to the HP support community.
The error code 0x00829C98 on your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 5085 printer typically indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this error:
1. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error persists.
2. Check for Paper Jams
- Open the printer and check for any paper jam, including in the paper feed or output tray.
- Gently remove any jammed paper or debris you find.
- Make sure that there is no torn paper stuck in the rollers.
3. Reset Printer Settings (Soft Reset)
- With the printer powered on, press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds.
- This will reset the printer to its default settings, which may help resolve temporary issues.
4. Check the Ink Cartridges
- Open the printer and make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
- Remove the cartridges, clean the contacts (using a lint-free cloth), and reinstall them properly.
- Ensure you are using compatible ink cartridges (OEM or recommended by HP).
5. Update Printer Firmware, click here
- You can update the printer firmware via the HP Smart app or HP website:
- Go to HP Support.
- Search for your printer model and check if there is a firmware update available.
6. Perform a Hard Reset (Factory Reset)
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in while holding down the Power button for 20 seconds.
- Release the Power button after 20 seconds and turn the printer on.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
