Hi @Katmin119,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error code 0x61000048 on the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 typically indicates an issue related to the printer's ink system. This could be due to a paper jam, improper ink cartridge installation, or internal hardware/software issues. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error persists.
Check for Paper Jams
- Open the printer and inspect for any stuck paper or debris.
- Remove any obstructions carefully to avoid damaging the printer.
- Ensure the paper tray is loaded correctly.
Inspect and Reseat the Ink Cartridges
- Turn on the printer and open the ink cartridge access door.
- Wait until the carriage stops moving.
- Remove each cartridge and inspect it for:
- Proper labeling as HP-compatible cartridges.
- Any protective tape or packaging still attached.
- Reinsert the cartridges firmly into their respective slots.
- Close the door and allow the printer to reinitialize.
Clean the Printhead
- Use the printer's control panel to navigate to Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the cleaning process.
Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cable from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable directly to a wall outlet (bypass any power strips).
- Turn the printer on and check if the error clears.
