HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

Receiving error message 0x6100004a on my OfficeJet Pro 6970, I checked for a paper jam but do not have one, the instructions then tell me to remove the toner cartridges, but the cartridge holder won't move - appears to be stuck.  Any ideas?

@Bert2560, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

A Printer Failure 0x6100004a error message displays on the printer control panel. This error can occur after a paper jam message.

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Make sure the cartridge access door is closed

To avoid errors or other problems, make sure the cartridge access door is fully closed.

Open the cartridge access door.

Opening the cartridge access door

Remove the paper path cover, and remove any torn paper, labels, or other obstruction that might be inside.

Checking the cartridge door for obstructions

Reinsert the paper path cover, making sure it is fully inserted into the printer so that it does not interfere with closing the access door.

Close the door, ensuring it is fully seated.
