@EWM7777, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're seeing error code 0xc19a0023 on your HP printer while using macOS 10.14 Mojave, and you're looking for a simple way to fix it. No worries, I'm here to guide you step-by-step!

This error usually points to a printhead issue - either it's clogged, misaligned, or electrically faulty. It can also be due to low or incompatible ink cartridges.

Try These Steps to Resolve the Issue:

Restart the Printer (Basic Reset)

  • While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  • Unplug the cord from the wall outlet too.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in directly to the wall outlet (avoid power strips).
  • Turn the printer on and see if the error clears.

Reseat the Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Gently remove all cartridges.
  • Reinsert them one by one, ensuring they click into place.
  • Close the door and check the screen for errors.

Tip: Only use genuine HP cartridges, non-HP ink can sometimes cause such errors.

Clean the Printhead (If Applicable)

If your printer has a removable printhead (e.g., OfficeJet Pro models), you can try cleaning it:

Note: If your model doesn’t support manual cleaning, you may need to run the cleaning utility from the printer control panel or HP Smart App.

Update Printer Firmware

Since you're on macOS 10.14, download the latest firmware manually:

  • Go to: Official HP® Support
  • Enter your printer model.
  • Download and install any firmware updates listed under macOS 10.14.

If none of the above steps help, the printhead might need servicing, in that case, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - United States | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)
