Hi @Cas583,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code E6 on your HP ENVY 6032e All-In-One Printer typically indicates a serious issue with the printer, often related to the carriage, paper path, or a sensor problem. Since you've already removed the paper jam and tried unplugging the printer, let's try a few more troubleshooting steps.
Steps to Resolve the E6 Error Code:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Additional Paper Jams:
- Open the printer and inspect for any remaining bits of paper or foreign objects that might still be inside.
- Ensure that the paper path is completely clear.
Reset the Printer:
- While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Turn the printer on.
Check the Carriage Path:
- Open the printer and manually move the carriage (the part that holds the ink cartridges) to see if it moves freely.
- If the carriage is stuck or does not move freely, gently push it to the center of the printer.
Inspect the Ink Cartridges:
- Open the printer and check the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly installed.
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to make sure they are seated correctly.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn the printer on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is still on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the power source and the printer.
- Turn the printer on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
