Hp Envy photo 7855 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed new ink cartridges. The printer would print about 5 pages then all lights would flash with the error code 6201922A. I've reset, I've unplugged, I've uninstalled and reinstalled... nothing works!!!!

Hi @Awilkie

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to print due to an error on the printer. I'd be happy to assist you.

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Check for any jams inside the printer and make sure the print carriage is moving freely.

Refer to the steps mentioned in this document.

Reinsert the ink cartridges. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I've gone through all the troubleshooting I know. I reset, I unplugged and reset, I reset and uninstalled and reinstalled. Every time I get the same result... it'll print a few pages then freak out.

@Awilkie, thank you for the response.

Let us reset the printer to its factory defaults that may help to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

I followed the instructions to reset to factory settings. I printed a test sheet which didn't look good. I tried to calibrate the cartridges but failed multiples times. I tried the clean cartridge setting on the printer and in the middle the same thing happened... all lights flag and the error code 6201922A.

This is the most ridiculous experience I've ever had!! There's no number to contact a person to help. The printer is a month old and cannot be fixed. It's still covered under warranty. I need a new printer sent to me ASAP! Working from home like most of the country and I can't even depend on a simple hp printer! Absurd!!!!!! This will be the last time I purchase an hp product if it cannot be resolved quickly!!

@Awilkie, apologies for the inconvenience.

If you have tried the steps and the issue persists, this could be a hardware issue.

I have sent a private message with the details to contact the HP Support team. Kindly check the same.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
